The water in the drum went above the maximum level. Haier advises unplugging the washer, closing the water tap and calling for service, because a valve that will not shut off can flood the room.
Likely causes

- Water inlet valve stuck open
- Water level (pressure) sensor or its tube faulty or blocked
- Control board fault
How to fix the Err8 code
Unplug the washer or switch it off at the breaker before removing any panel or filter.
Step 1: Unplug and turn off the water
Unplug the washer and close the water tap right away so it cannot keep filling.
Step 2: Drain the drum
Put towels and a pan in front of the washer, open the bottom cover and drain the water through the emergency hose.
Step 3: Watch for filling while off
Briefly open the tap with the washer still unplugged. If water flows into the drum, the inlet valve is stuck open. Close the tap again.
You'll need: Towels, shallow pan.
