Haier washer Err2 code: drain failure

The washer could not pump the water out in time. Haier lists a blocked pump filter, a blocked drain hose or a hose end set too high as the usual causes.

Likely causes

1. Drain pump filter clogged with lint, coins or small items
2. Drain hose kinked or blocked
3. Drain hose end more than about 40 inches (100 cm) above the floor
4. House drain or standpipe blocked
5. Drain pump failed

How to fix the Err2 code

Unplug the washer or switch it off at the breaker before removing any panel or filter.

   Step 1: Unplug and prepare

   Unplug the washer and put towels and a shallow pan in front of it. Expect water to come out.

   Step 2: Drain the remaining water

   Open the small cover at the bottom front. Pull out the short emergency drain hose, remove its plug and let the water run into the pan. Replace the plug.

   Step 3: Clean the pump filter

   Turn the filter counterclockwise to remove it. Rinse it under running water, clear the opening behind it, then screw it back in firmly. Haier recommends doing this once a month.

   Step 4: Check the drain hose

   Straighten any kinks and clear blockages. Haier advises keeping the hose end between 32 and 40 inches (80 to 100 cm) above the floor.

   Step 5: Run a spin cycle

   Plug the washer in and run Drain/Spin. If the water pumps out, the code will clear.
