About FixCodes

FixCodes explains appliance error codes in plain English. Each guide tells you what the code means, the most likely causes, and the steps to fix it yourself, along with when it is time to call a technician.

How we write our guides

We start from the manufacturer's owner manuals and service information, then rewrite the steps so they are easy to follow at home. We list causes from most to least common so you can try the quick checks first. Readers tell us whether a fix worked, and we use those answers to improve the guides.

Independent

FixCodes is not affiliated with Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, Bosch, Frigidaire or any other manufacturer. Brand names are used only to identify the appliances our guides cover.

How the site is funded

The site is free to use and is supported by advertising and by affiliate links to replacement parts. These never change which fix we recommend.
