- Inlet valve screen clogged
- Low water pressure
- Drain hose siphoning water out as it fills
How to fix the E4 code
Step 1: Turn on the tap
Make sure the tap behind the washer is fully open, then press Start/Pause.
Step 2: Check the water pressure
Run a nearby faucet. If the pressure is low, wait until it is normal before washing.
Step 3: Clean the inlet screen
Turn off the tap, unscrew the inlet hose from the washer and rinse the small mesh screen inside the connection. Reattach it and turn the tap back on.
Step 4: Check the drain hose
If the washer drains while filling, the drain hose is siphoning. Check that it is set at the height your manual gives and that its end is not in water.
You'll need: Pliers, towels.

Common questions
›Is E4 the same as Err5?
Yes, both mean the washer did not fill in time. Err5 appears on newer front-loaders.
›Can a frozen pipe cause E4?
Yes. If the washer is in a cold garage or basement, a frozen supply line stops water reaching it.
