- Soft water, which needs less detergent
- Clothes with leftover soap from hand washing
How to fix the Sud code
Step 1: Let the washer clear the suds
This code is not a fault. The washer pauses and adds rinse steps on its own. Let it continue.
Step 2: Run an extra rinse
If the cycle finishes with suds still visible, run a Rinse + Spin cycle with no detergent.
Step 3: Use less HE detergent next time
Use only detergent marked HE and fill below the line in the drawer. Pods should go in the drum, not the drawer.
Step 4: Clean the machine
Run the Self Clean or Pure Cycle with no clothes to remove built-up residue.

Common questions
›Is the Sud code bad for my Samsung washer?
Not on its own, but frequent oversudsing leaves residue that can cause odours and leak codes over time.
