How to fix the LId code
Step 1: Open and close the lid
Lift the lid fully, then close it. This resets the three-cycle limit GE builds into some models.
Step 2: Check for obstructions
Make sure no clothing or items are caught under the lid or sitting on the tub rim.
Step 3: Start a new cycle
Choose a cycle and press Start. The Lid Locked light should come on as normal.

Common questions
›Why does my GE washer want me to open the lid?
Some models will not start a fourth cycle in a row until the lid has been opened. It is a safety check, not a fault.
›Is the Lid Locked light a problem?
No. The lid locks during parts of the cycle and stays locked until the basket stops spinning. That is normal.
