The electronic boards inside the range have lost communication with each other. A power reset often clears it, and on some newer induction models a software update fixes it.

Likely causes

Listed from most to least common.

  1. Temporary glitch after a power surge or outage
  2. Outdated software on some induction ranges
  3. Loose wiring harness between the control boards
  4. Faulty main or sub control board

How to fix the C-F0 code

Unplug the oven or switch it off at the breaker before removing any panel or filter.

  1. Step 1: Turn the range off and on

Press the Power or Off button, wait a few seconds and turn the range back on.

  2. Step 2: Reset at the breaker

If the code returns, switch off the circuit breaker for the range for at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

  3. Step 3: Update the software

On Samsung induction ranges with Wi-Fi, connect the range to the SmartThings app and leave it on so it can download any software update. Samsung lists this fix for some NSI6D induction models.

You'll need: Smartphone with the smartthings app.

When to call a technician

Call a technician if C-F0 keeps returning after a breaker reset and any available software update. A wiring harness or control board likely needs replacing.

A typical repair for this code costs $150–$450 in the US, including parts and labor. Prices vary by area and model.

Models this applies to

  • Electric, gas and induction ranges (NE, NX and NSI series)
  • Flex Duo ranges with oven divider
  • Slide-in and freestanding ranges
  • Single and double wall ovens (NV series)

Codes can differ slightly between models. Your owner's manual is the final word and is available from Samsung support.

Common questions

›What causes the C-F0 code on a Samsung range?

The control boards inside the range stopped talking to each other. It can be a one-off glitch after a power blip, or a sign of a failing board if it keeps coming back.

›Is C-F0 the same as C-F1 or C-F2?

No. Samsung uses C-F1 for a memory read or write error and C-F2 for a touch control communication fault. The first fix for all three is the same power reset.
