The control panel thinks a button has been held down for too long. It is usually caused by moisture, grease or something resting on the touch controls, and less often by a failing touch panel.

Likely causes

Listed from most to least common.

  1. Water, steam or spills on or around the touch controls
  2. Grease or cleaner build-up on the control panel
  3. A pot, towel or utensil resting on the buttons
  4. A button pressed and held by accident
  5. Worn or failing touch panel (keypad membrane)

How to fix the C-d0 code

Unplug the oven or switch it off at the breaker before removing any panel or filter.

  1. Step 1: Clear the control panel

Move anything that is touching the controls, such as a pot handle, oven mitt or towel.

  2. Step 2: Clean and dry the buttons

Turn the oven off. Wipe the panel with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water, then dry it fully. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the controls.

  3. Step 3: Let the panel dry out

If the code appeared after a lot of steam from the cooktop, leave the oven off for an hour so moisture can evaporate.

  4. Step 4: Reset the power

Turn the range off, then switch off its circuit breaker for at least 30 seconds. Turn the breaker back on and try the oven again.

You'll need: Soft microfiber cloth.

Parts that may need replacing

Check your model number on the label inside the door or on the back before ordering.

When to call a technician

Call a technician if the panel is clean and dry, the power has been reset and C-d0 keeps coming back. The touch panel or control board likely needs replacing.

A typical repair for this code costs $150–$400 in the US, including parts and labor. Prices vary by area and model.

Models this applies to

  • Electric, gas and induction ranges (NE, NX and NSI series)
  • Flex Duo ranges with oven divider
  • Slide-in and freestanding ranges
  • Single and double wall ovens (NV series)

Codes can differ slightly between models. Your owner's manual is the final word and is available from Samsung support.

Common questions

›Why does my Samsung oven show C-d0 after I boil water on the stove?

Steam can settle on the touch controls and make the oven think a button is being pressed. Wipe the panel dry and let it sit for a while before using it again.

›Can I use my Samsung oven with a C-d0 code?

Usually not until the code clears, because the oven will not accept button presses correctly. Cleaning and drying the panel fixes it in most cases.
