How to fix the Er FF code
Unplug the refrigerator or switch it off at the breaker before removing any panel or filter.
Step 1: Move your food
Put food in another fridge or an insulated cooler, and lay dry towels on the floor to catch melt water.
Step 2: Unplug and defrost
Unplug the refrigerator and leave the fridge and freezer doors fully open for at least 24 hours. In winter it can take up to 3 days. Do not use a hair dryer.
Step 3: Dry the inside
Once all the ice has melted, wipe the inside dry with a towel.
Step 4: Restart and wait

Common questions
›Is the Er FF code serious?
It should be fixed soon. Without the fan, cold air does not circulate well and the compressor works harder, so food can start to warm.
›Can I use a hair dryer to speed up the defrost?
No. LG warns that the heat can warp plastic parts inside the fridge or cause a fire. Let the ice melt on its own.
