No repair needed

PF means the power to the range was interrupted, such as during an outage or when the breaker tripped. It is a notice rather than a fault, and the clock usually needs resetting.

Likely causes

Listed from most to least common.

  1. Power outage or brief flicker
  2. Breaker tripped or was switched off
  3. Range was unplugged

How to fix the PF code

  1. Step 1: Clear the code

Press Clear/Off to clear PF from the display.

  2. Step 2: Set the clock

Press Clock, enter the time and press Start to save it.

When to call a technician

No repair is needed. If PF keeps appearing without any outage, have an electrician check the breaker and the range power connection.

Models this applies to

  • Electric and gas ranges (LRE, LRG, LSE, LSG series)
  • InstaView and ProBake slide-in ranges
  • Induction ranges (LSIL, LSIS series)
  • Single and double wall ovens (WSEP, WDEP series)

Codes can differ slightly between models. Your owner's manual is the final word and is available from LG support.

Common questions

›Will a cooking program continue after PF?

No. Any cooking or self clean in progress is cancelled. Clear the code and start again.

›Why does PF show when nothing else in my house lost power?

The range may have a loose power connection or a weak breaker. Have an electrician check it.
