Bosch dishwasher E24 code: drain hose blocked or kinked

Water is not draining properly because the drain hose or the sink connection is blocked. On new installs, it is often the garbage disposal knockout plug.

How to fix the E24 code

1. 1

   Step 1: Clean the filters

   Remove the bottom rack, twist out the cylindrical filter and lift out the flat filter. Rinse both under warm water.

   Step 2: Run the garbage disposal

   If the dishwasher drains into a disposal, run it with water to clear food waste.

   Step 3: Check the knockout plug

   On a newly installed disposal, remove the drain hose from the disposal inlet and check that the plastic knockout plug was punched out.

   Step 4: Straighten the drain hose

   Check the hose under the sink for kinks or sagging loops. It should have a high loop or air gap.

   Step 5: Reset the dishwasher

   Hold the Start button for 3 seconds to cancel and drain, then run a short cycle.
